Twin Under sink Water Filter - Installation Instructions
1. Shut off the water supply to the kitchen sink.
2. Find a convenient location for the filter under the sink taking into consideration ease of access and best use of the cupboard space.
3. The plumbing fittings go in the following order ½ Tee Piece, Stop Tap, J.G. ½ F X ¼ grey reducing fitting. To connect the T piece cut 30mm into the copper line and connect all the brass fittings. (make sure they are taped well). ******CONNECT TO COLD WATER ONLY******
4. Select a location on the kitchen sink to install the faucet and drill (½) or (12mm) hole. For stainless steel sinks, first score a mark using a punch and then use a (6mm) or (¼) bit to drill a pilot hole. Next use a (½) or (12mm) bit to expand the hole. Drill slowly.
5. To install the faucet, place in order the small rubber washer, chrome plate then the large rubber washer onto the threaded end of the faucet. Insert the faucet into the hole in the sink. Slip the large plastic washer and spring washer onto threaded end of faucet then screw on the nut. Tighten nut, making sure the faucet is correctly positioned on top.
6. Measure and cut a length of tubing to go from the ½F x ¼ reducer to the inlet of filter and another length from the outlet of filter to the faucet, allowing extra length so that the filter can be removed easily in the future when filter cartridges need changing. Make sure ends of tubing are cut flush.
7. Connect tubing using brass compression nuts and nylon olives. The narrow end of the nylon olive face the end of the tubing. Do not over tighten. Important: Use nylon olives ONLY on food grade tubing. In the tube to the faucet, please make sure you put the tube insert in it.
8. Check that all connections are tightened properly. Open the stop cock fully and check for leaks.
9. Adjust the stop cock to its maximum so that the water flow is at about 3 litres per minute.
10. To dispense drinking water from the tap, push and hold down on the handle, or lift up for 'hands free' operation. 11. Open the faucet and let the water run for fifteen seconds to flush carbon fines from your system. Your filter is then ready to use. Air bubbles may be present for a short period.
12. Use self-tapping screws to attach the filter to the cupboard wall in desired location.
